As a pastor I am asked on many occasions to lead a memorial service. I have never been in a situation where the person who has died did not have friends. Some more than others. Some have been my friends. Some closer than others. It has been in these situations where I have found myself challenged with helping others grieve while I myself trembled within. These moments have meant more to me than I can fully tell, but here are some of those moments in their raw form. The hope is that you will see why I loved these people so much, but even more how God loved me and them through the friendship we shared.
