I hate to admit it, but it’s me.
I am defined by several key issues. The first one being a day when I was 5 years old. Let me begin by saying, my parents drug me to church every week. I was in this class where someone explained clearly that the Bible claims God came to earth in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus died on a cross to pay the price of all wrong. If you trusted in this payment it was applied to your need, and instantly God looked upon you as forgiven! I trusted and then told my mom. She responded, “Act like it!” Now I think my mom was stressed out at the time, but she gave me some good advice. I have tried to but even when I have failed, I know God still loves me (the Bible tells me so) Hey, that could be a song.
Other big things in my life. We moved to Iowa when I was 10. The farm, and country of that great state transformed my views about nature. I will forever be a farm boy. I remember swimming in the creek, and the feel of minnows hitting my toes. This and many other times just etch your conscience.
Another big, big thing is a lady by the name of Charlene who loved me and married me. I am just different because she loved me. I hope for everyone that they might be loved by someone. It really changes the way you look at events when you know someone is in your corner no matter what. She is beautiful kind and silly enough that I wake up each morning and make her coffee (the fifth food group!).
One more thing, I am a pastor. I get the strange joy of seeing people at their best and worst seeking for God. I can’t believe the incredible thrill of this “calling.” I wish I could just tell you all the neat things I have seen in hospitals, churches, cemetaries, homes, camps, and all the other places I have watched God work in hearts. My world is colored by the hues of grace. I don’t deserve all the blessings I have seen even while I was crying.
This blog is about the blending of these events, mixed in with the most wonderful bird of all the turkey.
Nice new banner pic!
Hey, Brian. Chila Woychik here. I went to school w/Stacy. (Do you know Stacy?:)
Anyway, Roy Hartzler said you had this blog, so stopped by to check it out.
Would love to add you to my facebook page and keep in touch there: C. Maggie Woychik
BTW, we have lived in Iowa since 2001, used to raise turkeys, and have seen numerous ones in the wild, even in our back pasture. Yes, they are uniquely unique animals!
Say hello to your wife for me.
